Our commitment
Jesse Oñate Real Estate is committed to ensuring that jessetek.net is accessible to people with disabilities, including buyers and sellers using assistive technology. We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone.
What we do
- Semantic HTML. All pages use proper heading structure, landmark regions, and form labels.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, dropdowns, calculators) can be operated via keyboard alone.
- Alt text on images. Photos of homes, Jesse, clients, and Jesse's team include descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images use empty alt text or aria-hidden.
- Color contrast. Text/background combinations meet or exceed 4.5:1 contrast ratios per WCAG AA.
- Resizable text. Pages remain usable at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Form labels and errors. All forms have visible labels; error states are announced to screen readers.
- Focus indicators. Visible focus outlines on every interactive element for keyboard users.
- Reduced-motion support. Animations honor the user's
prefers-reduced-motionsystem preference where it impacts comfort.
Known limitations
We are aware that some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA:
- Embedded third-party widgets (CRMLS IDX listings, Google Maps, Calendly booking) — these are controlled by third parties and may have varying accessibility levels. We use them because they provide essential functionality; we work with the providers when they update for accessibility.
- PDF documents linked from blog posts may not always have full screen-reader support. If you need a PDF in an accessible format, contact us.
- Hero animations on the home page (glitch text, Ken Burns photo effect) auto-play. They can be disabled via
prefers-reduced-motion: reducein your OS / browser settings.
Assistive technology
The Site has been tested with the following assistive technology and tools:
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android)
- Browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge — both desktop and mobile
- Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- Color-contrast analyzers (axe DevTools, Lighthouse Accessibility audit)
